This wine is only produced in exceptional years when a selection of wine exhibits amazingly defined character. The wine is made in celebration of the Heritage of Auntsfield Estate, Marlborough's first winery and vineyard.

The very best seven barrels of the vintage were hand crafted as a tribute to David Herd who established Marlborough's first commercial vineyard at Auntsfield Estate in the 1870s. It also celebrates the 102nd anniversary of his final vintage with the addition of a small portion of the only remaining bottle of his 1905 wine.

Colour:

Deep ruby/crimson, very intense.

Aroma:

Brooding berry fruits, boysenberry and raspberry with dried spice and hints of floral lavender. Vanilla, mocha coffee, dark chocolate and underlying savoury complexity.

Palate:

Deep rich red fruit dominated by boysenberry, raspberry and cherry. A creamy texture showing great complexity with interwoven
spices, vanilla and mocha with fruit and savoury flavours. This is a tightly structured wine with silky ripe tannins and unbelievable length.
